Personal desk utility

Privacy Policy

This policy describes Pavel Konoplenko's personal Focus Desk installation. It runs locally on his Mac and is not offered as a public service. Questions or deletion requests can be sent to pkonopl@gmail.com.

Data accessed

With Pavel's authorization, Focus Desk requests only Oura's Daily and Heart Rate permissions. It retrieves heart rate, daily readiness, and activity steps, together with measurement times. Oura's Daily permission also allows access to daily sleep summaries, but Focus Desk does not fetch or store them. It does not request Oura email, personal profile, or other scopes.

The optional iPhone companion may read heart rate and steps from Apple Health after Pavel grants Health access. It sends those latest readings and measurement times to a separate, authenticated Mac intake. The companion is not needed to use the desk controller.

Use and sharing

Focus Desk displays wearable readings and their freshness in its local dashboard. Wearable values do not cause desk movement. The app has no advertising or analytics and does not automatically send these readings to Codex, UPLIFT, or another data recipient. Its Oura API requests and OAuth authorization communicate with Oura to obtain the readings Pavel permits. Oura handles data in its own systems under its own privacy policy.

Local storage and security

Focus Desk keeps only the latest value for each wearable source and metric, plus its measurement and receipt times. It stores Oura OAuth credentials and these values in owner-only files under the Mac's Focus Desk application data directory. The local dashboard and Apple Health intake listen on the Mac's loopback interface. A separate private HTTPS connection is required if the optional iPhone companion is used.

Retention, disconnect, and deletion

Disconnecting Oura in Focus Desk stops its sync and deletes locally stored Oura credentials and readings. The app also clears Oura readings when Oura rejects a data request because access was revoked. Pavel can clear all stored wearable readings from the dashboard at any time. To revoke Oura's authorization itself, Pavel can manage connected applications in his Oura account. Removing the local Focus Desk application data directory deletes any remaining local session and rule data.

Updates
